However you got here, I'm so happy you found me! You're a busy woman and I value your time, so thank you for your interest in learning a bit about me and how I got here in the first place. It's a pretty juicy story!
We all start somewhere and my story of how I got here has to do with life and death...let me explain.
Growing up, I lacked healthy self esteem and was the epitome of a people pleasing girl that desperately wanted to fit in. If you've ever just agreed with others to be liked, you lose yourself and it happens quickly. After years of losing myself, I felt like a shell of a person but just kept running through the motions. Did I mention I was a high-achiever??
When I was in grad school, and I had a 60-something old male supervisor that immediately let me know he didn't think I was worthy. The senior Audiologist told me he thought I was, "too blonde, and too bubbly to be successful in private practice." His comment shattered my confidence. It made me retreat to inauthentic tendencies, like toning down my enthusiasm for the next decade of my life.
Once I found out I was expecting my first baby and I was having a girl, my entire life changed on the spot. Thoughts like, "How on Earth can I raise a confident daughter when I'm struggling myself?" This is when my wellness and healing journey began, and I've never looked back.
If you've ever been on a healing journey, you know how painful and difficult doing the inner work is. But, I was discovering who I was, what I wanted, and how to get there. I made massive progress! Again, high-achiever. But, something was missing...
When I had a baby and a toddler, my soul sister, aka my mom, was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I was shattered. I couldn't fathom how I would function in the world without her. The next four years were intense. Full of ups and downs with her health. Finally, her health didn't rebound this time. She opted to have home hospice so she could die peacefully at home. I was privileged to have sacred time with her the last weeks and days of her life. When you help your mom cross over to the other side, the term "spiritual awakening" doesn't do justice. When I find the right words, if I ever do, I'll update them here. Nonetheless, her death experience changed my identity and perception of the world.
Doesn't death tend to do that to most of us? Evaluate our goals, dreams, who we're in relationships with and if they're worth it. I realized that my achievements weren't what made me worthy. I invested a lot of time, energy, and money into figuring myself out, who I wanted to be, and what I wanted to do in this world.
I believe in the magic in our everyday lives. I'm an optimist at heart and am unapologetically enthusiastic about life! I'm excited to have you on this journey with me and can't wait to see what's to come for you!
Claire Schleicher is a certified international mindset coach with a Doctorate in Audiology, and the founder of Claire Schleicher Coaching, in which she helps mothers who've put their identities on hold by reclaiming confidence and breaking the cycle of self-doubt with compassion and clarity.
She focuses on empowering high-achieving and ambitious women to unlock their passions and reach their fullest potential by guiding them through transformative mindset coaching.
Growing up a high-achieving people-pleaser, Claire falsely believed early on in life that her worth was connected to achievement. An identity evolution was formed through a life changing spiritual awakening following the birth of her daughter and even deeper after the death of her mother. Virtuous clarity from intuition came from both experiences, which led Claire to follow her soul’s path as a mindset coach to help other women overcome their shadows and step into their highest self.
Claire has had long-standing roles in female leadership, serving on the Executive Board for her Sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, serving as President of the National Association of Future Doctors of Audiology, being a Girl Scout Troop Leader, and currently working as a Lead Audiologist.
Through her work as an Audiologist, she has published research, presented at both state level and international Audiology conferences, and served as a Program Manager at a Children’s Hospital. Claire has made multiple trips to various countries in Asia to serve as a Humanitarian Pediatric Audiologist.
While Claire remained loyal and diligent to her fulfilling career as a Pediatric Audiologist, she could no longer ignore the internal guidance nudging her to pursue coaching women to live an authentic life of confidence and self worth. This work truly lights her up!
Claire enjoys being active, spending time in nature, being present with her son, daughter, and husband, and traveling anywhere she can get to.
